Things to think about...Prior to the Photo Shoot

Time of day, of year, weather conditions, growth spurts in your horses and your location will all be factors.

Find some photos in magazines that you like, show us how you would like your horses photographed.

Check out some possible spots on your property that will make suitable backgrounds. This may be the time to mow an area or move objects out of the way that may clutter up your background. The sun should be over the photographer's back. If there is really no spot that you can find then you may need to consider the option of taking your horse somewhere more suitable. We offer A.M and P.M locations at our place in Liberty.

Have your horse bathed, clipped and immaculately groomed before the photographer arrives. Its you time, make sure to make the best use of it.

Last minute touch ups on your horse include fly spray, show sheen, hoof black, grease on the face, final mane and tail brush out, body wiped down with a towel.

Have an assistant to help get the horse properly positioned and to help with getting the horse's ears up. We carry props to help with this, but a few things that are good to have on hand are mirrors and squeaky toys. The key is not to show any of these to the horse until everyone is in place and ready!

Your horse need to be trained to stand quietly, we must be able to pick up and place feet without danger of being kicked.

If you have performance shots that need to be taken, your horse should be warmed up and ready to go. Do not over work your horse, they still need to be fresh enough to show well for the camera.

We can provide rush services, but there will be addtl. fees that will apply.
